July 4, 1948
- D’Arrigo Bros Co. of New York is founded and opens for business at 308 Washington Street (old Washington Street market) now known as Meatpacking.
- First load of Andy Boy Produce is received in NYC.
- Bidding barges were introduced to help farmers sell their product in Manhattan.
1960’s
- D’Arrigo Bros Co. of New York and D’Arrigo Bros Co. of California collaborate to launch first marketing campaign.
- Subway ads ran throughout NYC.
- D’Arrigo Bros Co. of New York and D’Arrigo Bros Co. of California publish “The Tender Years” ad in New York Magazine.
- New York Magazine runs “Mod Andy Boy” Ad.
March 4, 1967
- Hunts Point Market opens.
- D’Arrigo Bros Co. of New York begins with just four stalls: 315, 316, 317 & 318.
1980’s
D’Arrigo Bros Co. of New York purchases the following companies and begins to expand:
- Opalinsky (Unit 319, 320)
- Harry Brown & Son (Unit 304)
- Hess-Danziger Inc. (Unit 305)
- Kopke William H, Jr. (Unit 313)
- Levatino & Sons (Unit 219, 220)
- Pfeiffer, J.W. & Son (Unit 311, 312)
- Sidney Rosenthal (Unit 307, 308)
- Moss Produce (Unit 314)
- Benjamin Signore & Sons
- Joseph Steier (Unit 310)
- Wishnatski & Nathel (Unit 301-303)
1988 – 1990
- Apple Department extension becomes Fruit Department with cooler expansion.
1990’s – 2000’s
D’Arrigo Bro Co. of New York continues to expand with the purchase of the following:
- RMD (Unit 306)
- Alphas (Unit 326-328)
- Macdonald (Unit 329, 330, 332-336)
- H+M Fleisher (Unit 323-325)
- M+R Tomato (Unit 309)
May 1994
- D’Arrigo Bros Co. of New York becomes full service wholesaler upon completing first delivered sale.
June 2003
- D’Arrigo Bros Co. of New York launches potato & onion business.
July 4, 2003
- Stephen D’Arrigo (founder) passes away at the age of 79. Exactly 55 years after the company was founded.
September 2014
- Gotham Fresh Division is founded.
- The Mission: serve the Metropolitan New York area with a modern fleet of efficient delivery trucks six days a week. Customers can reduce or eliminate unnecessary deliveries to their facility.
November 2015
Fourth Generation starts working at the company.

January 2017
- Purchase of Banana Distributors of New York with addition of 30,000 square feet.
January 15, 2019
- D’Arrigo Bros Co. of New York becomes D’Arrigo New York.
- Company is rebranded with new strategic direction, name and look.
May 2019
- D’Arrigo New York consolidates to two departments: Fruit and Vegetable.
