Avocado

The avocado is a member of the Laurel family. The fruit of the tree, which was branded “avocado” in 1915 by the California Avocado Commission, is botanically considered to be a large berry containing a single seed. The Hass cultivar represents 80% of the world’s cultivated avocados.
